Something New in Heating Oil
As a long time user of #2 heating oil (30 years?) I was thrilled to learn about a new kind of heating oil product called UltracleanHeat. It's a mixture of 80% ultra low sulphur diesel and 20% pure biodiesel made from recycled fryolator oils and the like. I found that I don't have to make any changes to my current furnace, and that in fact, this concoction actually makes my equipment perform better. Yes, it costs a bit more than regular #2 oil, but the extra $100 or so a year spent I simply consider a donation to a healthier environment. Reportedly, this stuff has the lowest carbon footprint of any kind of heating oil, or gas, or coal, or whatever.
